Today in Nursery, we created a giant snowflake mural using tape and tempera paint.
First, I taped down snowflakes all over large white paper.
Then, the students filled the paper with white, blue, and purple paint. They learned that if you add white to a color, it creates a light version of that color (light blue and light purple int his case).
The final painted mural before removing the tape:
And after... it is a beautiful winter wonderland, I love it!
In this lesson, we learned about color tones: that adding white to a color creates a lighter version of that color. We also continued to work on painting skills, which as you can see, they are getting good at!
