Look,Taste,Feel and Smell!

Look,Taste,Feel and Smell!

Sensory play provides many opportunities for children to engage in active learning and experience. As children explore, they continually process how materials look, smell, feel, and sound. Sensory play also contributes in many ways to brain development. Think of it as “food for the brain.” Stimulating the senses sends signals to children’s brains that help to strengthen neural pathways important for all types of learning.

PreKinder students explored pasta, cornstarch, paint and rocks. They had the opportunity to develop their senses. Also, as students explored they experiment with the properties of cause and effect.
