Building from : Foam, Paper Rolls and Boxes

Early in the morning, during the sensory exploration time, children were surprised by unusual materials displayed on the carpet. They began to interact with the materials, touching, rubbing, tearing, and breaking in pieces the foam. It was really fun for them to crumble the foam as they listened to the creaking sound it made.

After free exploration, the teacher encouraged children asking “ What else can you do with this material?”  André began to build a road and the group  also engaged in the project.

André also builds a tunnel for cars to go in.

They even put together small pieces of foam to complete their road and have a close loop.

Through this activity André, Alexis, Carlos, Sarah and María Estela exercised creativity and imagination as  well as they developed team work skills.
